President Berisha met with residents of
Gramsh, Elbasan, Peqin and Rrogozhina
- The Banja H/P plant will be completed, which has been taken over
by the Austrian Government
- Construction of ring roads, bypasses and infrastructure, and the
restructuring of schools and hospital centers
- Berisha, together and not divided, the sacred tourist area
At the urgent invitation and as a sign
of heightened enthusiasm, he has
traveled over the days of his stay
with a firm conviction. There were several quiet and
working hours, imposed upon
orders of calm. There has been a broad exchange,
with people at every stop where he
stayed. Such was also the rally held yesterday in
the town of Gramsh, a large meeting
with the residents of the district,
peasants, workers, intellectuals,
representatives of the district’s villages,
producers and entrepreneurs.
The President of the Republic, speaking
at the meeting with the residents of this district,
pointed out that a vote for the Democratic Party
is a vote for progress,
well-being and democracy.
Moreover, he emphatically recalled
that 26 May is a vote for Albania’s membership in
the Council of Europe. A vote for the PD
is a vote for integration with
the values of the European family.
The head of state also focused on the
specific projects that the government will
carry out in this area, especially
the construction of the Banja hydroelectric plant,
which, according to him, has been taken
over by the Austrian government.
He also spoke about infrastructure development,
roads, water supply systems,
the restructuring of schools and
hospital centers.
He described the area of Elbasan,
Peqin and Rrogozhina as a space
with important prospects for
economic and tourist development.
Yesterday’s meetings concluded
with calls for massive participation
in the elections and a vote for the PD.

The promises of the PD are being put into practice
- Two agreements are signed between Albania and
Greece
- Albanian emigrants are legalized and the way is opened for
other seasonal jobs
- A Greek consulate will open in Korçë and an Albanian
consulate in Thessaloniki
According to the spokesman of the Council
of Ministers, the government has approved
two important agreements,
which concern the
legalization of Albanian emigrants
in Greece and making their legal
employment possible for seasonal
purposes. These agreements were
reached after talks between the two
governments and constitute an important step toward the normalization of
the relations between the two countries.
The first agreement concerns the
social insurance of emigrants,
giving them the opportunity to
benefit from the relevant protection
schemes. The second agreement opens
the way for other seasonal
jobs, creating facilities for the
movement and engagement of
Albanian workers in Greece.
The news has been received with great interest by the emigrants and their families. In the context of the rapprochement between the two
countries, the opening of a Greek consulate in
Korçë and an Albanian consulate in
Thessaloniki has also been announced.
This is considered an achievement of
foreign policy and a direct relief
for Albanian citizens who work or seek
to work in Greece.
